Monster Fish Battle

Aldis: WAIT!

Constructed Humanoid 5: “You will speak your name.”

Aldis: make sure they’re friendly still

Ignatius: Barthus

Ignatius: rolls 11 on his bluff check.

Constructed Humanoid 5: “Incorrect phrasing. You will speak your name.”

Splug: rolls 24 on his bluff check.

Splug: “Agera!”

Constructed Humanoid 5: “Welcome mi’lady. Experiment 12 is waiting for your approval.”

Splug: “Shut down for maintenance!”

Constructed Humanoid 5: “Yes ma’am.”

Aldis: niiiiiiiiice

Aldis: go splug!

Ignatius: Come on, we have to go, we need to find her. We have no time to lose.

Aldis: wait, lets not upset them

Aldis: PLEASE no more mechanical whirling death!

Cian: Oh, we survived last time.

Cian: … barely.

  • Aldis points to the blood staining Cians clothing

Cian: Rolls a 5 for a total of 16 on his perception check.

Conditional: Inquisitives kit adds +2 when searching for something specific.

Ignatius: rolls 14 on his perception check.

Aldis: good grief

Ignatius: rolls 16 on his perception check.

Aldis: we should see if experiment 12 is saveable

Midas: Rolls a 16 for a total of 24 on his perception check.

Ignatius: We have to find the woman. We have to kill her. This is of the upmost importance. We have to get out of here.

Aldis: We know, but any allies we can find is going to increase our chance of success.

Aldis: Experiment 12 may not be fully tortured yet.

Midas: there is something in water on the other side of this

Aldis: hrm

Tyrile: “Does anyone rememebr what was behind a door last time we heard water?”

Midas: well we can open it and close it real fast

Ignatius: These are her creatures. We will find no allies among them. They will not be redeemable while their master yet lives.

Tyrile: “Tentacles and pain, thats my memories.”

Aldis: well, that door had a very severe warning

Aldis: this door, has none

Tyrile: “thats true.”

Midas: (cracks open the door)

Aldis: and Ignatius… you’re far angrier than before the smugglers

Ignatius: the word experiment might be a warning

Tyrile: “If it happens again…we add a warning.”

Cian: What book did you read while we rested Ignatius? You seem to have a better handle on this lady.

Inquisitor Tyrildottir: “We need to find a way out of here so that we can bring this information before the Inquisition. No doubt they’ll want to launch an investigation into the Jade Tower. Maybe even on a national level.”

Ignatius: I didn’t read a book, I went over the words of the crone over and over in my head. My conclusion is that this woman wishes to resurrect the archenemy of my race. The evil wizard that wanted to dominate and destroy the other planes.

Ignatius: His attempts left Eladrin society in ruins, it took us 1500 years to rebuild after the last war.

Aldis: Then we most certainly will stop her

Ignatius: It was my ancestors that imprisoned this monster. I will not see him released

Tyrile: “The proof of guilt first, the exercise of judgment after guilt or innocense is determined, eh Lexi?”

Inquisitor Tyrildottir: Why even imprison him? Why not just execute him?

Tyrile: exercised second*

Ignatius: haha

Ignatius: he was too powerful to kill

Ignatius: all they could do was bind him

Midas: No one in the tower is going to let us walk in and kill the headmistress

Aldis: we need proof.

Inquisitor Tyrildottir: “And do to so without proof would certainly land us in prison. Or worse.”

Ignatius: What is this place we are in?

Aldis: we can’t take it with us

Ignatius: Can something like this exist without the knowledge and support of the headmistress?

Aldis: and there isn’t anything linking it to her other than a dead woman

Ignatius: Do you mean to tell me that unspeakable evil is taking place beneath her very feet and she has no inkling as to what is going on?

Aldis: she bluffed us

Ignatius: We spoke her name and the guards deactivated

Tyrile: “Unlikely, but still possible. She’d lose face by pleading incompetence, but she’d keep her head.”

Ignatius: Why would her name deactivate the guards?’

Midas: What she will let us bring people down here to prove it?

Aldis: false trickery – we could have reprogrammed them

Ignatius: unless she is the mistress of all of this?

Inquisitor Tyrildottir: “Conceivably yes, she could reasonably deny any knowledge of its existence. Unless we were to catch her red handed, our combined testimony would count for something. Perhaps if we could take one of the guards with us, we might be able to prove it.”

Midas: Well then lets find a way out

Ignatius: Yes, the first sensible words I’ve heard in the last five minutes my friend.

  • Aldis bangs on door 12

Aldis: “Anyone Alive in there?!”
James: A male voice answers from the other side. “Who’s there?”

Aldis: My name is Aldis, I’m a priest of Pelor.

Cian: Could someone be alive and not tunred?

Midas: Thats a man in there…and hes not like the silent kobolds

  • Aldis glares at ignatius

Aldis: here’s our witness
James: “Who? Did Agera send you?”

Aldis: No, we’re trying to stop her.

Ignatius: Her name again!
James: “Fools! Flee here while you still can!”

Ignatius: Is there any question?

  • Tyrile whispers. “Remember lads, alive.”

Aldis: Not for us, but we don’t have the power of low justice

Aldis: "We are doing more than fleeing, we are cleansing. We
James: Another voice “You there! Keep your line taunt!”

Aldis: ’ve killed the kidnappers…

Aldis: huh
James: “You’ve what? Why would Agera order that?”

Aldis: No. We’re going to kill her like we killed Kalarel.

Aldis: rolls a 7 for a total of 17 on his intimidate check.
James: “Oh Gryph! Intruders!”

  • Aldis to the party

Aldis: well, now I’m confused

Cian: They seem to be on her side

Aldis: sigh

Cian: We should probably keep moving.

Midas: Something in me really wonders what is going on in there

Aldis: I’

Aldis: m concerned about whatever it is they have tied down

Cian: Look, I know a little about curiosity, it doesn’t always work out.

Tyrile: “Meh, Im not a cat.”

Midas: (opens the door a crack)

Midas: (peers in)

Midas: Rolls a 14 for a total of 22 on his nature check.

Mage: “Keep your lines taunt!”

Aldis: If we could cut the ropes, we could leave them to their fate

Ignatius: Quite the change of attitude from you there Aldis. I have to say… I like it.

Aldis: They’ve made their choice

Tyrile: “Did’nt you used to be a pacifist?”

Ignatius: We could attempt to capture one of them and… extract… information.

Aldis: And now you want to stay?

Ignatius: Inquisitor that’s kind of your thing right?

Midas: I cant let them harm that creature

  • Tyrile glares at Ignatius.

Inquisitor Tyrildottir: “Right. We just need to leave one of them alive. Knock them out instead of killing them, and we have our proof.”

Ignatius: Well it appears that even if we leave, some people aren’t satisfied that we have enough proof to act on.

Aldis: And yes, I was. I thought all things deserved life, but some people do deserve what they get

Ignatius: So lets get proof.

Aldis: is that fish sentient? can we talk to it?

Midas: yes

  • Tyrile draws his blade and readies his shield. “Midas, do you think that thing will attack us if we free it?”

Ignatius: Can we tell it we’re here to help? Will that keep it from trying to kill it?

Ignatius: us*

Midas: Its abloth, they are very intelligent. this one looks a bit young, but it thinks and can talk

Aldis: alright. let’s rescue something in this damned place.

Ignatius: It seems to be resisting them.

Ignatius: I agree. Try to keep one of the mages alive. I’d like to have a word.

Midas: Enough talk in going in there

Aldis: do it
